It’s “solemn nonsense” to try to convert nonbelievers to Christianity, said Pope Francis. Or so we think. 

What exactly Francis meant in a recent interview with the atheist Italian journalist Eugenio Scalfari is up for debate, with some conservative Catholics and Southern Baptists fearing the worst – that Francis was dabbling dangerously in relativism.
