Why can't we be civilized?

Question: What is a question people should be asking themselves?

 Richard Branson: Do we really need to go through all those horrors, those trials and the executions? Isn’t there a better way?

In America, do we still need to execute thousands of people every year for crimes? It’s dehumanizing our souls allowing that to happen, knowing that a lot of those people are innocent. It’s just a fact of life that a lot of those people are gonna be innocent.

So it's another question I’ll ask is, “Why can’t we become civilized?” We’re intelligent people. We should become civilized.
