A new pill which a German pharmaceutical company will soon present to the FDA for approval raises medical and safety concerns since it claims to boost women’s libidos. Psychoanalyst Paul Joannides is sure that the drug, if approved, would be used commonly to spike women’s drinks on college campus across the U.S. That the pill claims to remedy a disease is also a concern to Joannides since it would treat a woman who doesn’t want to have sex with a man as a sick person. “You can be sure the drug reps will market the new drug in such a way that every woman who has stopped feeling sexually attracted to her partner will feel she needs a prescription for it,” he writes.
