Michael Shermer, publisher of Skeptic magazine (www.skeptic.com) and a Presidential Fellow at Chapman University, wrote an essay for Scientific American last month titled, "Will Science Ever Solve the Mysteries of Consciousness, Free Will and God?"
The article stirred much debate and provoked many comments, to the point where Shermer felt the need to write a follow-up essay, “Mysterianism Redux," to further explain his ideas.
Robert Wright of MeaningofLife.tv noticed the debate, and brought Shermer onto his own show for a lively discussion, kicking off the conversation by saying, “We're going to take care of three problems in short order: consciousness, free will, and God." Shermer chuckles and says, “No problem." And they're off to the philosophical races.
